HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found. Internet Information Services (IIS) ANSWER: This error probably occurs because the Web Service Extention for ASP.NET v2.0.50727 is prohibited. Prohibited is the default setting. To fix this problem do these steps: 1) From the IIS Console tree select Web Service Extentions. 2) On the right hand panel, right click in ASP.NET v2.0.50727 and select Allow from the popoup menu.
